(as long as you're not some freaky weird-o). 26 - 31 May 2003 -  Croquet!    26 photos After discovering that Cadi owns a croquet set, we all were instantly transformed into aspiring Croquet Champions. I'm thinking of taking another leave of absence from Reed - just to practice my game, you know. 22 - 24 May 2003 -  Our New Home    26 photos After packing up and cleaning the German house, Laura and I moved out and into our new place on 34th and Holgate. 17 - 18 May 2003 -  Rowena visits!    16 photos Rowena came to visit us. We had a nice breakfast, played some games, went out to eat on Belmont, and visited the zoo. 12 - 16 May 2003 -  Finals Week    17 photos Not much really happened. I stressed out, wrote a paper, took a final, finished a program and built an ant farm for a queen ant to keep me company. 05 - 07 May 2003 -  Reading Week    19 photos If it weren't for all of the events during reading week (I think we went out to dinner almost every night), I would have never left the math lab. RENN FAYRE (pictures soon) 25 - 27 April 2003 -  Last Week of Classes    12 photos Nitrogen Day came and we froze stuff. In the meantime, my HA responsibilities began to dwindle. Much time was spent in the library, despite all of the sunny days and beautiful weather. 20 April 2003 -  Easter Party    27 photos The German house threw an Easter party! All of the German faculty was invited (as always I suppose). We dyed eggs, baked cakes, grilled steaks, had an Easter egg hunt, and the Easter bunny even showed up. 03 April 2003 -  Chocolate Party    23 photos The Spanish and German houses threw a chocolate party. The Germans brought tons of German, Swiss, and Austrian chocolates to the Spanish house and made espresso. Then John Haviland showed up with South and Central American cocoa mixes and all of the tools required for making gallons of hot chocolate. 21 - 29 March 2003 -  Spring Break Ends    14 photos Spring break was fun, but it was over. But before we went back to work, there was some computer game binging and we had a frag fest. 20 March 2003 -  Trip to the Zoo    79 photos After the parents left, Laura took me to the zoo. I had never been before, but she kept telling me about the fantastic Lorikeets house, so I had to go. It was terrific fun! 14 - 17 March 2003 -  Family Visit! (Dad's photos)    43 photos Dad took lots of photos too while everyone was here. 14 - 17 March 2003 -  Family Visit!    62 photos Dad, Sam, and Grandma as well as Laura's Mom and stepdad Ed came to visit us in Portland! We tried to show them the best of Portland and had a wonderful time. 09 - 13 March 2003 -  Language House Events    22 photos A Quebec party, Kaffeeklatsch, a power outage, and copious amounts of strawberry smoothie graced this weekend. 04 - 08 March 2003 -  Renn Fayre T-shirts    40 photos Laura designed the pre-Renn Fayre T-shirts and it was time to print the shirts. So we grabbed some beer and some friends and spent a night in the print shop. Later that week Laura bought some new toys at the juggling store, and we repotted all of our plants. Laura made more pizza and we hung out with kids in the house. 02 March 2003 -  Mardi Gras!    54 photos Reed celebrated Mardi Gras - a language house event - and Laura and I played our own round of iron chef. I think Laura's pizza beat out my mustard peaches and spam. 01 March 2003 -  An awesome Saturday    85 photos It was sunny! So we took off for the Columbia River Gorge in Laura's hot hot hot station wagon. Later we went to the Communist Party and then went climbing at the climbing gym. What a long day. Our lives are hard. 24 - 28 Feb 2003 -  Another week at Reed, part II    13 photos In addition to doing work (which was too exciting to document here), we raced my new car, went to a Japanese steakhouse, and envied Laura's facial hair. 13 - 23 Feb 2003 -  Another week at Reed    47 photos It was Reed Arts Week and campus looked a bit different for a while. We had some beautiful weather and some fun Sunday coffee tables in the German house. Jeremy installed Linux on his xbox and Ralf, the Munich program director, came to visit Portland. Oh, and I pulled a few all-nighters. *Joy* 08 Feb 2003 -  Rowena Visits    51 photos Rowena came to visit us for the weekend - and she brought lots of great presents from friends during her time in Germany (Thank you!) The weather was beautiful, so after we took a practice GRE, we went for a walk in the Rhododendron gardens and then did lots of shopping and cooking for our qual celebration party in the German house. 05 Feb 2003 -  Hanging Out    18 photos We pulled an all-nighter in Bud's cool physics office and went to the juggling club/PE - just another normal day at Reed. 02 - 04 Feb 2003 -  Language House Events    9 photos This weekend had some great stuff going on in the language houses. We ate crepes at the lunch in the French house and then played mutli-lingual scrabble at the international coffee table in the Spanish house. 01 Feb 2003 -  Portland Rock Gym    19 photos Three (or four?) times each semester, Res Life takes a group of Reedies Portland Rock Gym for a night of climbing in a gym reserved exclusively for us. (Good deal, huh?) Here's a small movie (MPG) of Brooke climbing a bouldering problem. 25 Jan 2003 -  Papa Haydn's    13 photos Papa Haydn's is the mecca of deserts.
